Lunar New Year 2025: Growing Together
On February 22, 2025, the Connecticut Museum and the Asian Pacific American Coalition of Connecticut (APAC) are proud to host their third annual Lunar New Year Celebration together with CT State Community College Manchester. Please read the welcoming statement from APAC below:
The Year of the Wood Snake arrives with uncertainty. What divides us feels stark and hurt can come from any direction. Our community holds multitudes—those born here by birthright, transnational adoptees, refugees, and immigrants. We carry every identity, each a contradiction and a mirror of one another. Yet, the snake symbolizes more than danger or venom—more than unsettling quiet or blistering violence. It also embodies growth, renewal, and resilience, bending without breaking, even in uncertain times. May this moment grant us the grace and strength to grow together, protecting and uplifting one another, even when forces seek to pull us apart.
