The Inspire Center brings history and problem-solving together in a hands-on creative space for visitors of all ages! Look closely at objects from the Connecticut Museum collection, get inspired, and work together to create something new. With objects and themes changing monthly, you can enjoy unique experiences all year long! March’s challenge is to invent a new art-making tool!

Celebrate Read Across America at the Museum! Enjoy a reading of The Gold Bowl, written by Connecticut author Valerie Bolling. Hear about all the fun a little girl has with her pets, and then make a special gift for your own furry friend!

Family Movie Night: Ferdinand
Did you know that the children's book "The Story of Ferdinand" features drawings by Connecticut illustrator Robert Lawson? Or that this book served as inspiration for a popular children's movie? Join us for a special showing of "Ferdinand," a story of how a gentle, flower-loving bull finds himself wrapped up in many misadventures after refusing to compete in bullfighting. Families are encouraged to bring pillows and blankets and wear their comfiest footy pajamas! Free popcorn and juice boxes will be provided.

Celebrate National ASL Day at the Museum! Families will uncover the history of the American School for the Deaf, learn simple ASL signs, and practice other forms of non-verbal communication.

Family Program: Noopura Naadam – The Sound of Ankle Bells
Join us for special dance performances by Layavinyasa Company! During this program, all ages can experience and enjoy the traditional Indian art forms of Kuchipudi Dance and Carnatic music that embody stories from ancient scriptures. Performances will take place from 11:30 - 12:15 and again from 1:00 - 1:45.
