Did you know that nearly 55,000 people from Connecticut joined the Union Army during the Civil War? Look closely at a variety of images and posters to explore the ways in which people of Connecticut were recruited to be soldiers for the Union Army. Then, using primary sources as inspiration, children can create their own recruitment poster! For further exploration, tune into a live, virtual workshop to learn about the many other contributions made by Connecticans during the Civil War, ranging from factory-made supplies to homemade items.
This program is great for children ages 5-8. The fee is $14 per student per workshop for non-members or $10 per student per workshop for CMCH members.
