Furniture expert Brock Jobe will be at the CMCH on October 15 to share his thoughts and opinions on twelve fine examples from the museum’s furniture collection. From a 17th-century chest to a Queen Anne dressing table, come learn with us as Mr. Jobe explains what details he examines when assessing a piece and why he selected these twelve items as representative of the CMCH’s significant collection of Connecticut furniture.
Mr. Jobe’s impressive career in museums includes positions at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Colonial Williamsburg, the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities (now Historic New England), and Winterthur Museum. He is the co-author of New England Furniture: The Colonial Era.
