“What was it like when you were a kid?”
We’re collecting objects, images, and stories about growing up in Connecticut. We’ve got an online gallery and an upcoming exhibit that will explore four generations of childhood (born between 1930s–90s). We need your help!
For the collecting day, we are collecting objects, images, and stories for our upcoming exhibit, Growing Up in Connecticut. We’re asking people to bring toys, photographs, clothes, home movies, and other treasures from their childhood and teenage years. All objects will be accepted as loans to the CMCH to be considered for inclusion in the exhibit (not all objects will ultimately be included in the exhibit). People who drop off an object will have the option to share stories behind the object (i.e. why the object was important to them growing up). Stories will be filmed and shared on the exhibit website and/or in the physical exhibit. The exhibit will run May 23 – October 8, 2016.
Bringing an object for loan to the exhibit gets you free admission to the museum for the day!
