This January, the CMCH is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Prohibition with a party featuring live jazz music, dancing, and, of course, cocktails! Come dressed in your best 1920s style, and you might win a prize for best costume. No 1920s party is complete without dancing, but don’t worry if you don’t know how to do the Charleston – we’re partnering with Hartford Underground Vintage Dance Group to provide tutorials in how to cut a rug like a flapper.
And you’ll have a chance to sample some of Connecticut’s finest home-grown spirits and liqueurs with Hartford Flavor Company, Litchfield Distillery, Westford Hill Distillers, and Fifth State Distillery on hand to offer tastings.
There’ll even be a pop-up exhibit of “flapper” dresses from our collection on display.
Live music provided by members of the New England Jazz Ensemble.
$20 for CMCH members, $25 for non-members. Cocktails and refreshments included. Guests must be 21 or older.
Advance tickets can be purchased here, or you can buy tickets at the door.
