Custom Teacher Workshops
"Coffee: A Connecticut Story" exhibition opens November 7!
Professional Development
Let us customize a professional development workshop to meet the needs of your group! Connecticut Museum of Culture and History’s professional development workshops provide teachers with practical information, materials, and classroom strategies for integrating hands-on, inquiry-based social studies teaching in their schools. Professional development activities take advantage of our exhibitions, knowledgeable staff, and extensive collections and focus on the skills outlined in the Connecticut Elementary and Secondary Social Studies Framework and Common Core State Standards. Workshops are available on a variety of historical topics and themes for teachers at all grade levels.
Exact fees are determined based on the staff time necessary for research, preparation, and conducting the workshop; size of teacher group; and other considerations, such as the number of rooms/spaces needed. Fees do not include catering services, although staff may be able to assist with setting up catering for your event at the CMCH.
“This workshop was really geared towards what I can use in my classroom. My students will really enjoy this (me too!).
—8th grade teacher, Groton
