CHS Members and special guests are invited to meet Bob Englehart and celebrate the opening reception of our newest exhibit, Drawn and Cornered: 35 Years of Englehart Cartoons.
Bob Englehart’s editorial cartoons have been appearing on the pages of the Hartford Courant for the past 35 years. He began mastering his craft for newspapers in Chicago and Dayton, Ohio, where he was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize in the Editorial Cartoon category in 1979. He joined the staff of the Courant as a full time editorial cartoonist in 1980. Englehart’s cartoons have been published nationally in the New York Times, USA Today, Time, Newsweek, and Sports Illustrated. His self-described political philosophy is “moderately confused.”
This exhibit, curated by the artist, will include over 36 original cartoons spanning his 35 year career at the Courant.
Please R.S.V.P. for opening reception by October 19th.
