This week, we introduce the work of Zitkala-Sa, a Dakota Sioux activist, author, and musician born in 1876. We’ll be reading an excerpt from American Indian Stories, in which she recounts her experiences at a missionary school in the 1880s. You can read that here: The School Days of an Indian Girl.
All you need to join the club meeting is a device (laptop, desktop, smartphone or tablet) with an internet connection. Click here to register. You’ll receive a confirmation email containing information about joining us via Zoom.
We’re offering this program for free, but if you would like to make a donation to help the CMCH keep history alive through this difficult time, please click here. Or, to learn about the benefits of museum membership, click here!
