THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT. There will be a Hands-On History: Introduction to Calligraphy workshop on Saturday, August 12.
Explore the many ways a photograph can tell a story in this hands-on workshop for tweens and teens. Professional photographer Marc-Yves Regis will guide students through the art of photography. Learn how a single image or object can reveal different perspectives, and use the CMCH grounds or museum as inspiration for your own photography. Students will choose their favorite photographs taken during the workshop to print to take home. We’ll also uncover the stories behind the portraits taken by Connecticut daguerreotypist Augustus Washington and analyze his historic daguerreotypes.
This workshop is great for students ages 11-16. The cost is $8 per student for CMCH members and $10 per student for non-members. Participants are required to bring a camera or a device with a camera, as well as any necessary equipment or cords required to upload pictures from their camera to a computer. Laptop computers will be provided to print the photographs. Call (860) 236-5621 x222 or email corinne_swanson@chs.org to register.
